Why MindCo?

MindCo.’s Founder and Director is committed to providing superior mental health and wellness services to individuals and families because she recognizes the significance of encouraging good mental health and wellness practices, and the positive impacts of these services in the community. Our exceptionally designed programs and services are informed by the most current to date research and literature.

MindCo.’s Philosophy

We are a non-judgemental, strength-based centre that utilizes a variety of frameworks and modalities from psychology, social work, neuroscience, mindfulness, heartfulness, self-compassion, deep ecology, philosophy and more in the design and delivery of our programs and services.

Azi Razbani-Tehrani

Azi Razbani-Tehrani, RP, RSW, RECE, MSW, PH. D (In Progress) Pronouns: She/Her
Azi has 24 plus years of combined experience in clinical and community practice across Ontario. She is a Professor, Researcher, Psychotherapist and Consultant, that has worked in different capacities with individuals, couples, and families across diverse communities. Azi is a Registered Social Worker with the OCSWSSW, Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO, and a Registered Early Childhood Educator with CECE.

For the past 9 years, Azi has been in private practice, concentrating predominately on individual, couple and family matters as well as children and youth issues such as parenting/ co-parenting, individuals who have previously or actively experiencing relationship strains, separation /divorce and or blended family transitioning. Azi’s clinical work experience includes supporting individuals, couples and families in different dynamics, folks involved in the criminal justice system and those mandated to counselling through the courts, women and children in crisis, as well as folks from vulnerable communities in the Greater Toronto Area. Her community practice experience includes developing and facilitating programs for youth (such as bullying prevention programs, sexual and drug awareness programs, LGBTQ+ support groups etc.) as well as adults (such as Partner Assault Response program, substance abuse and anger management programs etc.).

Azi is a child and youth advocate and highlights the importance of considering and including young people’s voices/ needs and recommendations in matters that effect their lives. Azi’s research interests involve impacts of separation/divorce and blended family formation on children and youth, impact of parental/caregiver conflict and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) on children and youth exposed.

Currently, Azi provides clinical supervision to Master of Social Work students, a part-time professor in the field of social work and social service work instructing courses such as crisis intervention and trauma-informed practice; clinical practice with individuals, couples and families; principles of counselling; ethics in counselling.
