Thriving Stepfamilies
The Thriving stepfamilies seminars are for individuals in the process of establishing or that have just established a new stepfamily. The program is informed by the “Smart Steps” model developed by Dr. Adler-Baeder. The Smart Steps program is a research-based family life education program for couples and children forming stepfamilies. The group meets once a week for 90 minutes. The parents are going through the program at the same time as their children but in two separate rooms, covering different material. These seminars raise awareness of distinct challenges specific to stepfamilies and offer helpful information and suggestions to enrich family relationships.
